Leonardo DiCaprio In Early Talks To Join Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained

Variety reports that the Inception star has began early talks to join Inglourious Basterds director Quentin Tarantino's upcoming film, Django Unchained. In case you might be interested in reading it,the film's script was leaked on the internet a couple of weeks ago but basically the story is about a liberated slave named Django who goes on a revenge mission against his former captors and in true Tarantino style it features alot of graphic violence and strong language. Nothing has been confirmed yet but DiCaprio is being eyed for the role of Calvin Candie who is the main villain in the film. Other roles that have already been confirmed include Christolph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds) as Dr. Schultze, a German dentist-turned-bounty hunter and Samuel L. Jackson as the Candie's head house slave.

No one has been confirmed yet for the title role but it has been rumoured that Tarantino wants Will Smith to play Django. Unfortunately that seems unlikely at the moment so Tarantino is considering other actors like Idris Elba (The Wire), Jamie Foxx and Chris Tucker for the role if his Will Smith dream doesn't come true. Hopefully if DiCaprio signs on then Big Will will change his mind and join the cast of what already looks set to be another Tarantino classic.

Are you excited by the prospect of seeing Leonardo DiCaprio and Will Smith squaring off against each other in a Tarantino film?
