Friday's Cheese: Let's Do The Time Warp Again

When was the last time you went to a screening of a movie with toast and a lighter in your pocket, which, depending on whether or not you're wearing stockings and suspenders, might be somewhat impossible?

The Rocky Horror Picture Show was released onto an unsuspecting public in 1975. Based on the play by Richard O'Brien (Riff Raff), its themes of sexuality, transgender, incest and even cannibalism led to its being banned in certain countries.

The plot is of young, naive, newly engaged All-American Brad and Janet (played by a very young Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandon) who have a flat tyre. Stranded they 'see a light' and are led to a castle filled with any number of weird people who have gathered for the Annual Transylvanian Convention. Enter stage left, the flamboyant Dr. Frank-N-Furter (superbly played by Tim Curry), who has created the hunky Rocky Horror a la Frankenstein. As with most mad scientists, Dr. Frank-N-Furter is given to jealous, murderous rages alternating with devious charm.

You all know the songs. Dammit Janet. Touch-a touch-a touch-me. Sweet Transvestite. And of course The Time Warp.

The film is a cult classic, with groupies interacting with the dialogue and singing along to the songs. It's not to everyone's taste. But it's just a jump to the left...

What's your favourite Rocky Horror moment?
