Box Office Preview: 05-05-2011

Welcome to our weekly preview of all the latest films that will be opening in local cinemas this weekend. Our duty is to inform you on what to see and what to avoid so that you don't spend your hard earned money on duds that should've never been given the production greenlight in the first place. Check out the full list of new releases after the jump.

Fast And Furious Five - Director: Justin Lin. Starring: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Matt Schulze and Sung Kang. Distributor: Universal Pictures. Age Restriction: 13LV. Running Time: 130 Minutes.

This will definitely be the biggest, and loudest, new film this week and will most probably make more money than the rest of this week's new releases combined. If you liked the previous films in the series then you should definitely check this out but if not then you should probably stay away. I completely understood that not everyone is into fast cars and hot chicks...

Jane Eyre - Director: Cary Fukunaga. Starring: Mia Wasikowska, Michael Fassbender, Jamie Bell and Judi Dench. Distributor: Focus Features. Age Restriction: 10M. Running Time: 118 Minutes.

This latest incarnation of Jane Austen's classic novel joins a long list of previous adaptations that have all been pretty decent but not particularly good enough to be acknowledged as the definitive film version. Question is, can this one succeed where so many others before it have failed? I'd give this a try if only to compare this casts performance to the performances from the previous adaptations.

Let Me In - Director: Matt Reeves. Starring: Kodi Smit-McPhee, Chloe Moretz, Elias Koteas and Richard Jenkins. Distributor: Relativity Media. Age Restriction: 16LV. Running Time: 116 Minutes.

Cloverfield director Matt Reeves' latest has been praised by most American critics as probably one of the best horror remakes ever (It is based on a Swedish film of the name) and is currently sitting on 90% on Rotten Tomatoes. Personally I'm not into horror films but based on the strength of the reviews I'd recommend you go and see it if you're a horror fan.

Luv Ka The End - Director: Bumpy. Starring: Shraddha Kapoor, Taaha Shah and Shenaz Treasurywala. Distributor: Y-Films. Age Restriction: TBA. Running Time: TBA.

Another week, another derivative Bollywood film.... Meh!

Henry Of Navarre - Director: Jo Baier. Starring: Roger Casamajor, Julien Boisellier, Joachim Krol, David Streisow and Andreas Schmidt. Distributor: Metropole Films. Age Restriction: 16SNV. Running Time: 148 Minutes.

This was originally released as a TV mini-series in some European countries but has been re-edited into a full length film to squeeze some extra money out of us suckers down south. Don't let them fool you! Rather wait for the DVD/Blu-ray set when it comes out if you really have to see this. Judging by the trailer you won't be missing much anyways.

Which one of this week's new releases are you looking forward to seeing?
