Hot New Trailer: Green Lantern

The new official trailer for Green Lantern has just debuted online and while it's slightly less epic than the WonderCon footage  I showed you guys about a month ago, it is still a vast improvement on the first trailer that was released at the end of last year. Check out the new trailer below:

Along with Super 8, X-Men: First Class and yes, Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, Green Lantern is one of my most eagerly anticipated blockbusters for 2011. As such I don't really need any more convincing to watch the film but if you are one of the sceptics, hopefully this trailer has made you at least consider giving it a try. By the looks of things Green Lantern will definitely be a spectacle worth seeing in 3D and in any case, a film by an experienced director like Martin Campbell (GoldenEye, The Mask Of Zorro, Casino Royale, Edge Of Darkness) can't be THAT bad can it? Audiences loved the blue aliens in Avatar so here's to hoping that they will be just as enthused by green aliens.

Synopsis:

In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan. Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax...he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

Based on this trailer alone, are you planning to see Green Lantern or do you have no interest in it whatsoever?

Green Lantern will be released in South African cinemas on June 24 and will be available in 3D at select venues.
