Trailer: The Skin I Live In

In anticipation of it's premiere at this year's Cannes Film Festival which begins on Wednesday, Sony Pictures Classics has released the first teaser trailer for Spanish director Pedro Almodovar's (Broken Embraces, Volver) new film called La Piel Que Habito (The Skin I Live In). This one of the film's that I would definitely watch if I were lucky enough to attend the festival but since I'm not this new trailer will have to do for now. Check out it here:

Synopsis (via festival-cannes.com):

Ever since his wife was burned in a car crash, Dr. Robert Ledgard, an eminent plastic surgeon, has been interested in creating a new skin with which he could have saved her. After twelve years, he manages to cultivate a skin that is a real shield against every assault.
In addition to years of study and experimentation, Robert needed a further three things: no scruples, an accomplice and a human guinea pig. Scruples were never a problem. Marilia, the woman who looked after him from the day he was born, is his most faithful accomplice. And as for the human guinea pig...

I'll be the first to admit that the trailer does look a bit silly and you're probably wondering what all the fuss is about. Nevertheless, this is a Pedro Almodovar film after all and any film he makes should pique the interest of any serious film lover.

Have you watched any of Pedro Almodovar's films? Are you looking forward to watching this one?
