On set of Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol, the fourth of the sequel, Tom Cruise is being challenged by doing some of the stunts. Director, Brad Bird, prefers to use real action sequence instead of special effects.
Channel24 says that Cruise is committed to his role as Ethan Hunt in the film and was even prepared to ‘dangle’ from the world’s tallest skyscraper in Dubai, where the film is being shot.
Cruise says, "It was a very challenging shoot. It's a big film and we had to move around a lot. We were doing a lot of physical effects live - we weren't using special effects. And so it was physically a real challenge.”
The film should have many action scenes, as it is Mission Impossible, so it will be interesting to see how many of these scenes Cruise really did. Many actors use stunt doubles or the directors use special effects. Brad Bird commented that it is easier to film live action shots than use special effects as you don’t have to be in control of everything.
Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol is to be released in December this year.
