The Dark Knight Rises' cast grows

What is sure to be one of the most anticipated films of all times announced a new cast member on Tuesday.

Daniel Sunjata will join the third Batman film directed and written by the Nolan brothers. His role has not yet been announced but it may be minor. Christopher and Jonathan Nolan are writing the screenplay and have already cast major characters including Selina Kyle/Catwoman, who will be played by Anne Hathaway and Bane, to be played by Tom Hardy.

The first film in the Batman revamp series, Batman Begins was released in 2005. It was highly rated but its sequel, The Dark Knight, released in 2008, has been lauded as a masterpiece.

The third film, The Dark Knight Rises, set for release in 2012, therefore has exceptionally high standards to reach.

Sunjata stars in fireman comedy action show Rescue Me and has appeared in crime-law stalwart Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.
