Thor is being released in South African cinemas this Friday but there will be some sneak previews showing at selected Ster-Kinekor and NuMetro theatres on Wednesday and Thursday night. In anticipation of it's release, I have collected most of the trailers and clips from the film in one single post which you can check out after the jump.
First up we have the teaser trailer...
And then there's the feature trailer:
Finally there's a couple of internet only clips:
Even after seeing all of this footage, I'm still not quite convinced that this film will be worth spending money on. The action is not really amazing and the humour is a bit off-putting I must say. If unlike me you are excited to see this, I'd advise you to save your money and avoid watching it in 3D. While it won't be as headache inducing as Clash Of The Titans was, I've read reports that the quality of the post-converted 3D, although it is improving, is still not quite up to par with that of native 3D ala Avatar.
Here's the official plot synopsis via slashfilm:
Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment present the epic adventure, “Thor,” which spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth), a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth by his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and is forced to live among humans. A beautiful, young scientist, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), has a profound effect on Thor, as she ultimately becomes his first love. It’s while here on Earth that Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.
Thor will be released in South African cinemas on Friday and will be available in 3D in select venues.
